About the day
Two days of remembrance
November 1 honours all the saints, and November 2, All Souls' Day, remembers everyone who has died. In much of Europe and Latin America people tidy and decorate graves, bring flowers and leave a candle burning.
In Spain and Portugal it is also chestnut season, with roasted chestnuts shared at the castañada and the magusto. Whatever your traditions, we hope you find a quiet moment for someone you miss.
